The surrender of Imperial Japan was announced by Japanese Emperor Hirohito on August 15 and formally signed on September 2, 1945, bringing the hostilities of World War II to a close.

Maybe. I am betting there were people here very much against the war. It probably just wasn't reported as the press was probably more patriotic then. I have not researched this, just a thought.

In the past whenever there was a catastrophe or threat the country has always come together. The way things are now, I have my doubts that anything will bring the country together again. The politicians, news and social media do us great harm by exaggerating our differences and ignoring our similarities to gain votes or ratings and advertising income. Unless they are held accountable or the public wakes up we will stay divided. Bob

The division in the country is as bad as I have ever seen.I dont know what caused it,social media,talk radio or just the way people are now.If we could agree to work together and put term limits on our politicians maybe things could turn for the better.

Term limits, yes, but they, ALL parties, will NEVER vote on that ever!

The communist infiltrated are education System back in the 60s with this idea that socialism was the answer to make us all equal, let the government provide for us. They will not stop until they can push this Critical Race Theory next. This will be what will divide this country beyond ever coming together again.
