Maybe, it would depend on a few things.

1-Is it ok with the seller?

2- The buyer and seller in the same state?

    3-Long gun or handgun?

4- Ultimately the seller will call the shots on a face-to-face transfer.

I have picked up a purchase from a nearby dealer and in person, face to face....both required good communication with the sellers and the face to face was also completed at a gun store located between myself and the seller....the paperwork was completed by the gun store personal including the NICS check....Both occurred in my home state and tax was collected on both sales.

Best to just ask seller before bidding.

Some dealers only do business online and don't want buyers to come over to their house.

Summit Gunbroker (sells on GB) is one such dealer:

    From their FAQ page:

Can I pickup my gun locally at SGB?

No. We do not have a store front. Therefore, all sales must be sent to another FFL dealer for you to pickup.

Step 1: Is it legal to do so in your situation? Every buy is so different.

Step 2: Is the seller cool with it?

I personally always welcome in person sales but what're the chances that the geography align?

You can, but only if I think you're someone that I'd like to meet.
