Taste like chicken:-). Actually, they are good. It's been a long time since I had frog legs, but I remember they were good.

I heard they are good by many people over the years

As fo me Never tried them or had the chance to try , as a kid I recall my parents talking about frog leggs

But they grew up when anything was fair game to eat out of nesity .

Dad said they tasted like chicken ( doest every thing when ask )

And mom said she remembered them trying to "hop" out of the frying pan when placed the grease

Ditch-Runner The taste is closer to crappie I think. As far as them jumping out of the skillet, for about 3 to 4 hours after you cut off the legs and skin them the legs if you grab that black colored nerve they will kick. I imagine if you tried to cook them with in that time they maybe would kick. Kind of like cleaning a turtle, you want to put a stick in their mouth after you cut the head off or it will still bite you for 3 to 4 hours afterwards. Had a friend about loss is finger once when cleaning a turtle. He got his finger in its mouth after he cut the head off, I quess it was a a real pain getting to it off after it closed its mouth on his finger. Cold blooded creatures are like that.

Each to their own, what you may think is delicious doesn't mean others will agree, I tried them a couple of times over the years and still say no thanks.

I'm in! Years ago we had a local restaurant, The Country Squire, that served a fantastic order of frog legs and it was what I ordered most of the time. Sadly, the restaurant is long gone and I don't know of anyone locally serving them. Bob

    Those are from Frogdog's aliens.

If the aliens fry up that good….I say “Welcome to Earth!!!”

The only thing that tastes like chicken is, well, chicken. All of the amphibians and reptiles taste the same. So, if you have eaten rattlesnake, turtle, or alligator, you know how froglegs taste. The most meat is on the gator, so get your gigs out.

Good eats! I've gigged, cleaned, and fried a lot of them. We cut a tendon on them to keep them from "jumping" out of the pan.

    Ahhhhh.......the old memories!😋

Back in the mid-1970's summers, at mid-morning on Saturdays, I'd visit my uncle's farms in Southern Oklahoma. One day we decided to "hunt"(aka....pickup snipping) for some frogs around ponds for lunch. Fortunately for our quarry......Jerry Don only had his scoped Rem 788 22-250, and I just had a Gold Cup 45ACP. Jerry had a tough time figuring out why he was always shooting under his target......and IF I ever connected, it was hard to find any "legs" leftover. Still......the few legs were good.

Later on we upgraded our hunting arsenal. Jerry found an old Mossberg 142mb, without good sights or magazine. He wanted a magazine and peep sights(like his old Army M1).....and the rifle refinished. So began my first foray into hobby gunsmithing. I got the parts from Navy Arms, had the barrelled action reblued at Sisk's Gunshop(aka.…Sisk Bullets), and Tru-Oil refinished the stock. Not bad.....but definitely NOT "Guild" quality. My uncle was plum tickled to death.

Over those few summers......we had some great times. One day we were circling a small pond.....and he managed to pull off his "greatest" shot. He proclaimed "I've spotted a Trophy Bull"........at which time he pointed the Mossberg out his driver's window..…and straight DOWN. The muzzle couldn't have been more than 2 feet from his trophy, when he pulled the trigger. I couldn't stop laughing for 30 minutes. Later.....while cleaning.....the "string" hanging out of the frog's mouth, was the tail of a large partially digested field mouse.

Fried frog legs, fried sliced potatoes with sautéed onions, potato salad, and ice cold sweet tea.......NIRVANA!!!😋😋 Especially when prepared by my aunt Linda!

    Great times...…GREAT memories!!😁

I've gigged 'em, shot 'em and trapped 'em. But if ya' git one to bite on a wooley booger on a loooong fishin' pole, ya'all got a fight on yer hands. jus' dangle it in front of him and he can't resist.

You must have beer with frog legs…

    …for the extra hops.

My brother and I must have caught 100 bullfrogs one day out of a big beaver dam doing just that….. dangle a grub/jig head in there and yank ‘em out. Quite a feast!

Used to literally hand catch them by the burlap bag full. Came to the conclusion that the cleaning wasn't worth the meat you got from them🤔

    I know what you mean.......

Back in the day.......we became very proficient with an alternate use for pliers......while cleaning frog legs.😉😋😇

I always used a good pair of meat scissors. Snip, snip, snip….done.

Never had them, but I wouldn't turn them away given the chance. There's a slough along the river not far from where I live that used to have massive frogs living in it. The tadpoles would just about fill your hand. One of Grandpa's old buddies used to catch the frogs, and said the legs were the size of a small chicken's. I need to check it out again.
