$2.97 here in west Michigan but GasBuddy is showing an alert that prices are going up. Typically they jump 30 to 40 cents, thes slowly - a few cents per day - go back down.
Do you use GasBuddy? If so, look into it and see why they give you cash back, it might change your mind.

Not sure why, (agree with the Comments, about any excuse in the Middle East, drives prices up.) But our prices have been dropping from $3.65 (6 mo ago) to a low of $2.91 currently.
(Personally) I believe Biden is releasing "Strategic Reserves," in order hold prices down in order to garner Votes. (I'm cynical like that.)

$3.17 just west of Indy today. I agree KenK/84Bravo, I would put anything past whoever is calling the shots for brandon.

Winter blend fuels are cheaper to produce and yields are higher per barrel than summer blends.

The Sheetz was for 88 octane 15% ethanol gas. My f150 is flex fuel and can use it . I tried a tank a year ago. Hated it . No power ,poor drivability and reduced mileage . Price offset isn't enough to go back to it for me

The station I use the most "Meijer" has turned half the pumps over to that lower octane flex fuel!! 😫
The regular pumps are now so busy, you end up waiting in line to get to them! The flex pumps are mostly vacant.

$2.83

Continuing to drop here. ($2.85) Not sure why. Usually any turbulence in the Mideast, shows higher prices. (Almost instantly.)
I still prefer the $1.65 we had a few years back.
Biden's very 1st act as POTUS, was cancelling the Keystone Pipeline. A genius move there. Probably advised by his Idiot Son, (Hunter) while He was still on the Board of a Ukrainian (Oil?) Conglomerate @$50K/mo. Although he had ZERO experience to bring to the table. 🤔
Nothing to See Here. Move Along Now. 🙄

KentK/84Bravo is on track as to why gas prices are down. When Trump replenished are strategic oil reserve a barrel of oil sold for $39 a barrel, and we are suppose to maintain 750 million barrels oil at all times, in case of and emergency. This was established back in the early 70s when the Arab countries had an oil embargo on the United States. Remember the gas lines and shortages of gas at gas stations back then. Now a barrel of oil is selling for around $80 a barrel today. The government is making money selling the oil, where they are spending that money lord only knows. The last I heard we had used around 65% of are oil reserve and this has kept are oil prices down, for now. That oil in the strategic reserve will eventually have to be replaced, but now at $80 a barrel. The only way to avoid this deficit that Biden has placed in the future for us is to start drilling are own oil again. People have been lead to believe that gas will always be available, to believe this you put your self at the mercy of foreign oil producers. By drilling are own oil again the price of a barrel of oil will come back down again because there will be more oil back on the market.
Price of gas in western Illinois is $3.35 .
