Biden’s new $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill included a mandate that requires all car manufacturers to include alcohol detection systems in the making of all new vehicles after 2026.
So now you will have to blow into a breathalyzer built into your vehicle before you can start it?? Damn!! I personally am more worried about power drunk politicians and bureaucrats than drunk drivers.

Maybe. People not driving after consuming alcohol saves money. Saving money has already been established as acceptable criteria for intrusive laws. Mandating seat belts, no sale of tobacco to those under 21, and the list goes on.

I made a comment about this to Serf over in politics the other day. Just another way for the government to control every aspect of your lives. Since new vehicles are connected electronically to the rest of the world, does anyone think that the alcohol senser info will stay private? Bob

Here is another part of the bill for electric vehicles.
If the vehicle is made by a nonunion shop the credit is $7,500.
If the vehicle is made in a union shop the credit is $7,500 with an additional $4,500 credit for being union made.
