I would also bet those permits cost money.

I think here in Ohio last I heard they ask for a ID and take your photo at the scrap recycle yards when you take any thing in

Even on iron, they have recorded the license plate numbers here in Idaho for quite a few years. Don't believe they require a vax card yet though.

I still see you have that pretty lady on your arm😉. We don't need anything to scrap here. Just scrapped my copper for the year at 3.60. I got 5,800 for it. Time to buy that Marlin 45 cowboy I wanted and a Marlin 218 bee. Thank god I have ammo for both. We had talked about buying a place in Hilton head , to be close to my brother in law, my best friend, But I didn't care for some of their gun laws and such. Now I know I made a wise decision , since I will still be doing some hvac work and scrapping

After some jerks picked up the 5,000 pound engine at an Amish sawmill and sold it for scrap the county decided every purchase had to be videotaped and DL and person's photo recorded. That lasted a couple of years before they settled back to just recording DL of seller.

I'm trying to get old metal barn torn down before prices go down again ;)

For all y'all complaining about ID requirements- ever here that a vacant house has been "termited"? Copper thieves go thru an empty house, rip out all the wiring, heat pump copper, any copper pipe. They get $100 worth of copper. Do $15,000 in damage to the property.
