Our duck is in the fridge.

Our fridge is cold and it takes a while to thaw critters out.

I've never had much luck with fridge thawing, even after 4 days. Always have to use the cold water soak method after all those days in the refer.

We get a fresh one. It is being slauughter on Monday at the local turkey farm. Wife will pick it up on Tuesday to avoid the Wednesday madhouse.

According to your chart, I need to put it in Monday... probably try today, as just finding room for it will be a chore...

I always just stick it in a cooler by itself.

Ours is still out there strutting although I do hope to get one in my sights on Tuesday. Quite a few nice big jakes coming through. Only the two of us this year so that should be plenty.

I buy it .5 to .75 of a cow at a time. Doesn't keep too well if you don't freeze it.

We cooked a twelve pound prime ish rib, bone in, rib roast.

Wife and myself, 22 year old daughter and her fiance, and my 13 year old and 7 year old daughters.

Wife made the usual Thanksgiving side dishes. I made Yorkshire Pudding.

Friday morning, only the rib bones left from the roast, and very little of anything else.

Found out Yorkshire pudding makes awesome bread for a prime rib sannich!

I ate turkey for 3 evening meals after Thanksgiving. When the gravy ran out, I shared what was left of that bird with my 2 K-9 buddies.

I mentioned in an earlier post that turkey isn't a favorite of mine. Had a very bad case of food poisoning way back in my teenage years from turkey leftovers. Couldn't even stand the smell of one for many years thereafter. Took me close to half a lifetime to get back to eating it.
