I read an article on the reason for for the large increase.
There is a new drug for treatment of Alzheimer's.
The drug is administered in the Drs office so it qualifies for Part B benefits. The annual cost for the drug is $56,000. CMS who manages Mcare argued against approving the allowance of the drug as part of Part B benefits but they were overruled by an advisory group. So they are anticipating large increases in costs.

I read that the increase will be around 22 bucks a month added. So much for our 5.9% cost of living increase!! 😔
