So what is this real id??
Friday I was at the DMV getting my drivers license renewed. The perky young thing, with a big smile on her face asked me if I wanted "real ID". I had no clue what she was talking about. I thought my drivers license WAS real ID.
So then she started explaining that a REAL ID drivers license has a star or stars on it and I would have to have it by 2023 or I couldn't fly commercially.
This started to sound a whole lot like a national passport for traveling around the country. Am I right that this is just another form of government control?? So what is this new form of BS??

I wonder if those chips would get deactivated from the heavy use I give to my wallet?
Over the years I have done in those magnetic strips on many a credit card!

You'll know for sure when you present it as ID and they confiscate it.

My wife's maiden last name was / is the same as mine. Can't even begin to tell you all just how many times that confused people.
She told me she agreed to marry me just so she wouldn't have to change her last name. There are times when I do believe her.............😜

I got the regular ID/license. If they're good enough for the illegals, they're good enough for me.
Besides if I ever need to go in to a federal building I'll be in cuffs, so front of the line, baby.

Me too. When I renewed my DL, the girl asked me about the Real ID, I told her no thanks, she looked at me like I had just ripped a fart. I guess she must get a commission for upselling the license.
