No aluminum?? Are the prisoners in Deerlodge takin a vacation now? Why don't they fire up one of the old smelters in Anaconda and stamp out some copper plates? I'm sure they'd develop a nice patina.

Not to hijack you, but ATK in Lewiston is shutting down lines due to lack of brass. Not just aluminum.

Joe, I lied to you. The plate is aluminum, but is not embossed. The writing/numbers are painted on.

Plastic / vinyl plates don't hold up well weather wise and the extremes they experience.

    That's a no-brainer, but obviously those in charge don't know that..............yet.

Already been complaints about clod/breaking, and we haven't even started winter yet, and you know how cold winter gets here,,,

I always thought the Montana plates said Big Sky Country on them, has it changed?

They went nuts awhile back. Some say Big Sky, some are Treasure State, Some just Montana.

Then you have the themed plates; Agriculture, sports, recreation, wildlife, this group, that group. There were over 230 plates to choose from.

Don't know if this shortage issue has changed the number of available styles.

Treasure State is Montana's official nickname, but yes, it is commonly referred to as "Big Sky Country", and the license plats have been labeled as such.
