An eggs-itentIal crisis!
What happened? Did I miss something? The last three dozen eggs that I have bought from the grocery store are puny. Two different stores and three different brands and all the eggs don't even qualify as medium in size. The cartons all have said large but they sure ain't the size I am used to. Is this a sign of a looming apocalypse? Are all the chickens evolving into Cornish game hens? The next thing you know a can of beer will only be 10 ounces instead of 12. Regular hot dogs will turn into cocktail weinies. Civilization as we know it is doomed. Bob

eggs for a while have been getting smaller. just like your pants you have to start getting a bigger size.

My chickens are still laying king sized eggs,
But the pullets from last spring are starting to lay eggs the size of a quarter.

Bob, the hens in your area must be listening to the lib news media. With intent to pleasure them with soothing music, attention must be made to make sure the radio station doesn't flip to the dark side when no human ears are listening.

The eggs we get from Kroger's are huge, not quite ostrich huge, but they are pretty big.

Blame it on climate change, actually weather can affect the size, but more commonly will affect the timing of laying, I have one hen that lays a smaller egg every day and another that lays larger ones but on average every other day, they have been molting for about 2-3 weeks now and this will also affect egg production.
