lucky no one was hurt other than being scared or laughing there butt off at him

He must have practiced loading a round in the tube and racking the slide. Maybe in front of a mirror. He certainly did look the part, right up until he looked like an idiot. I think the term we've used around here is, "poser".

My guys and I always tried to keep an eye on the range monitors. I was amazed at some of the contorted positions some shooters would take. Of course, safety was our main concern. This guy would have been engaged in polite conversation and depending on his attitude offered some advice or asked to leave. Pistol grip shotguns in my opinion look cool but all of my personal shotguns have stocks.

Yes, exactly. I have never been to one of those official ranges people talk about here. I have been to an unmanned range many times, when I get to Montana. Other than that it's in a gravel pit, or up in the woods, or over at the neighbors.
