There was a guy on my mail route that got a catalog for Russian "brides". I think it was legitimate. Because some of the candidates were in fairly rough condition. I mean frog crap on a mud fence bad. It wasn't in a sleeve or envelope so I leafed through it and showed the other carriers. We laughed. I think it must have been sent to the guy as a joke by someone.

There was a catalogue for Oriental mail order brides, called "Cherry Blossoms". We had a young bachelor staff member. Got him a subscription. delivered to the office. Anonymously.

Ex-wife's cousin got a Russian mail-order bride. She was HOT, and cute and smart, and the two were no match. Ex-wife's cousin was a pothead who lived on disability and sold pot to supplement. They were truly an odd couple. She stayed with him long enough to get her citizenship papers, and she was gone.

Neighbor of mine whom I went to school with was from a well off family .For whatever reasons he did the Russian mail order bride thing. Married an absolutely gorgeous one who had a teen age daughter. Four or five years afterwards he was several hundreds of thousands of dollars poorer and newly divorced .Buyer beware

From what I have seen on the news shows
Most seem to do what ever to get a foot in the door they go there own way shortly after making a marriage official
Seen one the fellow they were including in the reports had I think 3 imported wife's maybe more over time sounds like he was truly looking for the sex slave as they all left and reported him

There are several of the guys I work with have Filipino brides.All have been married for several years and seem to be doing fine.

I knew of one acquaintance who brought one over, pretty good looking for sure. Got her degree, and about 6 years later murdered him for real. Must have been some built up frustration somewhere.
