I'm pretty sure the late news anchor Peter Jennings was Canadian but couldn't swear to it.

Not that it matters much but I'm pretty sure every news anchor is just taking orders from network higher up's. A requirement to have such a job along with having Hollywood movie star good looks.
If you ever noticed, Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, and Brian Williams all look like clones of each other! I could include Dan Rather with a bit more weight on him than the rest.

They do in fact have to fit a mould, both in looks and political perspective. Having worked with several of them and many others in person, I can assure you that they all lean so far to the left they have to be propped up.
