Is there an ad blocker for my computer that really works and isn't some type of scam??
The title says it all! Thanks!

You didn't say which browser or op system, but the best blocker is UBlock Origin, hands down.

I have UBlock for Chrome and Edge. It is the only blocker which defeated the insidious pop up ads on my AT&T email page.

Just install uBlock Origin as an add-on. Don't argue, don't quibble, and don't take any other advice. It will work with every browser I've tried, in Windows, Linux, and Android, provided the browser allows add-ons or extensions.

Yes, sir! I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it...just to comply 😁.
Honesty, UBlock handles the toughest popups, those which the others could not.

Would someone send me a link to uBlock?!? I want to make sure I'm going to the right place. Thanks guys!

You don't need a link. Go to your Settings and Add-ons or Extensions, then type uBlock Origin in the search box. If there's a box that says INSTALL, just click there.

I thought GB frowned upon the use of AdBlockers on this site?

They can frown all they like; it carries no duty for us to comply. BTW, even with one, I still see the crazy auction items on the right side like the one where somebody has bid over a kilobuck for a '98 Mauser.
This site isn't so intrusive anyway. There are others that are virtually unusable without a good ad blocker.

The word/phrase/name "Ad block" used to be autocensored.
