Our other problem with high priced milk is finding some that has a longer expiration date than only 4 or 5 days. Judy and I don't use it up all that fast and a gallon normally lasts us 10 days or so. That's normally not a problem when I can get milk that has 2 weeks on the buy before date but lately it seems to be all short dated milk in the coolers. Sometimes I buy half gallons but then that requires an extra trip to the store because it runs out faster. I wonder if milk consumption is down because of inflation so that it sits on the shelves longer? Bob

Are you still paying for that stuff??? No man, just pull what you want from the shelf and then load it in the car and leave. You don't have to pay for anything anymore. It is all part of Joe's new deal or green deal or square deal. I don't remember but I do know you don't need money anymore.

Use to be milk would spoil in about 3.5 days. Now it is good for about 2 weeks. What are they putting in it to keep it fresh that long ?

I have found that milk will still be OK for about a week after the exp. date.

I do give it the smell test and make sure it is not forming clumps however! 😁

The round indentations in the side of a plastic gallon milk jug are so you can freeze it, and it won't explode in the freezer.

Myself? I can't drink it. Goes right through me, very quickly.

My daughters go through a 1/2 gallon every 2 weeks or so.

i have a good friend who is a dairy famers. He has about 75 head that he and his wife manage. Milk might be $3.75 a gallon but he has not seen any of that increase because all of his operating expenses have ate up any increase he is getting for his milk.

Dairy farms are scarce around here. There was at one time plenty when I was growing up and all the farmers said there was no money in dairies and it must have been true.
