Pictures and a model number would be helpful. Googling the answer might be your best bet. I've been a dealer for a year and a half and I've never even heard of that before.

On the back of the unit, just above the rotary switch that selects light/laser/light+laser/off there is a little metal catch. Push up on that and the back of the battery compartment rotates up. There is a push button switch and a jack to plug in the tape switch on the back of the battery cover.
