Why are we paying so much for ammo on this site?
I'm not trying to ruffle too many feathers but as buyer's on Gunbroker we are just paying crazy money on things that we can get at our local gun shop for less money, when opening bids on flats of 12ga are $100 plus freight at least for me I can still get shells for around $7.00-8.00 that's a substantial savings over the opening bid and freight plus sales tax when tax wasn't an issue that helped. As long as we support and purchase these items the seller's are not dumb, why lower the price if people are going to pay. Just something to think about

We are a small Gun Shop in business for 41 years. We have lost several big wholesalers in the last 2 years. The ammo is very limited to purchase from the wholesalers that are left. Gone is free shipping, Net 30 days, and a daily sales call. My last order of ammo was over $1000.00. The sales person informed me I needed to buy an equal amount of firearms to get the ammo.
Normally, I would not spend additional money to get product, but it was all hunting ammo I needed to sell my inventory
Our profit margin is 30% on ammo which covers shipping, staff, and overhead. Please realize that ammo companies raised their prices in July to cover additional mfg expense.
In our area 3 big box stores have stopped selling guns and ammo, after forcing several small shops out of business.
Please buy where you like, after all it is STILL a free Country...........
