Another officer down RIP "update"

A career spent fighting bad guys just to be shot down by a brother LEO. Somebody's got some splainin' to do.

Vancouver police identified the officer who died as Donald Sahota, 52.

Latest reports indicate the victim was armed with a handgun when he encountered the perp (Julio Segura) at his front door. The perp admits he knew the victim was a police officer prior to stabbing the victim multiple times and leaving him for dead. He then entered the victim's home and beat the victim's wife unconscious. Apparently the victim recovered enough to engage the perp a second time and during the ensuing struggle was shot dead by another LEO.

Through a series of colossal mistakes, an altercation that should have resulted in a dead perp on the victim's front porch ended in the tragic death of good man.

  Officer Donald Sahota will be laid to rest today. As many as 400 vehicles may line the route of his funeral procession up interstate 5.
