Congrats Joe. I've done this twice and the timing was great for me (just by luck). What I didn't see from your post was if it was an easy or hard decision by the boss! 😂

I've been retired for over 17 years. It's much like it was when I was working except the pay and benefits are much less.

But it's nice that I can take a nap whenever I feel like it.

    Thanks all.

I'm probably going to do a part time job. But I'm looking so forward to the naps, more free time. It's going to be good.

congrats wish you a very long and enjoyable retirement

as for me almost 8 years since I left and I have not missed any of it .

1st couple years at random I would wake up thinking I was running late or it would start getting late at night and I would think I better get to bed I have to work tomorrow ... then reality would set in .. old habit's were hard top break 🤨

I don't know whether to congratulate you or offer my condolences. You know that "honey-do" list is going to come out of mothballs, and you are going to be so busy around the house doing them, you will wonder how you ever had time to go to work. Don't ask me how I know this. LOL

The one piece of advice I offer to other retirees, is keep active, Both mentally and physically. That part time job you are thinking about should take care of it. I have watched friends retire, sit back and do nothing........for a little while. Then they are gone.

    But seriously, congrats, enjoy.

A year from now you won't know how you ever had time for work.

    Congratulations 😎

Congrats. I'll save you a bit on the learning curve: Do all your shopping, fishing, golf, and such Mon-Fri. Leave the weekends to those poor working bastids. When you're out driving on weekdays, remember that everybody else on the road is at least as senile as you are now!

Daytime television knows its audience. You'll see ads for erectile dysfunction, hair loss, diabetes, miracle drugs, medicare supplements, dental implants, oxygen generators, and lawyers for those who have been denied disability. It's much better to nap than watch.

    Congratulations Joe.

I'm a bit envious, still have a handful of years to go.

Made that jump in 2012. Wondering why I didn't do it sooner, except I couldn't afford it!! Now I'm bringing in more than when I worked, just not saving like I was. Enjoy your retirement!!!
