US Capitol police setting up offices across the country
California and Florida will be the locations of the first two branch offices, with additional states expected to be added in the “near future.” Acting USCP Chief Yogananda Pittman made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday. The purpose will be “to investigate threats to Members of Congress” following the Capitol riots on January 6th.

It is the job of the capital police to protect congress, but I didn't know that protection ever extended outside of D.C. . It is getting crowded out there because we already have more fed law enforcement agencies than you can shake a stick at - FBI, ICE, ATF, U.S. Marshalls, DEA, Secret Service, even the USPS postal inspectors and others. For a country who's constitution basically prohibits a national police force, we sure got a lot of them!. Bob
