Yes. The SG has a dress uniform which closely matches the US Navy uniform. This detail has caused previous GB forum members, who chose to focus on SG Joycelyn Elders, to spin out of control.
The fact that the NOAA Commissioned Officers wear the same uniform, which attracts no attention at all, only demonstrates how little those GB forum members knew.
I like to imagine that in the updated GB forum we have moved past this.

I didnt know the surgeon general had its own uniform until I saw C.Everett Coop wearing his.I thought he was a USN Admiral and the surgeon general.

The only one I ever knew of was C. Everette Koop. I never could understand why he wore a rear admiral uniform when he was called a general.
Thinking about these quasi-military groups, I think the Salvation Army could raise a lot more money if they had an Armored Division.

I don't him but I know he is a member of one the now 8 "Uniformed" services and that he is an Admiral in the United States Public health services commissioned corps.
