Saw this on another board. Another use for a Makarov.

They also mentioned using the lanyard ring on a 1911 to do this.

The Israeli Valmet has a bottle opener built in to the bayonet lug. Soldiers were using the magazine and damaging the feed lips, so they put one on the rifle.

As a kid I worked many a summer on a carpenter crew. Learned to pull the "caps" off bottles with the claw end of a hammer.

well back in my "bar" days using your teeth was a method used why ? showing off I guess and not by me 😁 I am not sure as all the bars had openers

Oddly enough, I haven't had the need for a bottle opener for at least a decade.
