its been a long time............
since I went out to a regular bar and just hung around for a few hours. I used to be able to get drunk playing pool for a beer a game, maybe 15 years ago or so. well today is my birthday and having grandkids and just general health issues, and now a few personal problems. well today is my birthday, the grandkids went to spend the day with friends and wife was gonna pick them up after work. I decided to head to a local neighborhood bar and have a gin and tonic for my birthday, got there about 1:30 and only one other fellow was there, they had gotten rid of pool table and now have poker machines in its place. had a beer and left.
decided to try another place I used to go to and ran into a guy I haven't seen in maybe 20 years got to talking and next thing you know he passed it around the place it was my birthday, had way more beer than I needed and got to playing pool, lost first game, then won the next three, then they wanted to play for money, just $5 a game, but I knew it was time to go or I might just sit there the rest of the night. quess some old habits aren't that hard to kick afterall. momma ain't happy as she could smell the alchohol on me, but it was just one of those things I had to do to get it out of my system as things have been bad last few weeks, this just proves I CAN say no if I have to........

Happy Birthday hillbille. Mine were a lot more fun 30 years ago. Yes, nothing last forever. A few of my favorite bars from many years ago in Indy are either closed or dramatically changed - and not for the better in my view. Hang in there, there is always (I hope in my case) next year. 😉
