Damn, I bought another knife!!
I went up front to the gun shop yesterday and saw this custom knife made here locally by a gunsmith and knife maker I knew back in the 1970's. Really nice work with a 4" upswept Persian style stainless blade and a very well done stag handle. I couldn't just leave it there!!

I figured it all out some time ago. If you want to stay sharp after 60, you have to keep buying sharp things! π
Very nice knife there Ricci! It looks like it would fit the hand comfortably.

I have only a few handmade knives, none of them quite so elegant, but they have a "feel" that surely comes from the hands of the men who made them. There's a warmth, sometimes even a heartbeat one can sense in those knives. Holding one is like shaking hands with its maker - because you are.

A very good friend and boat, canoe, and knife maker, made this one for me a few years ago. He passed away unexpectedly.
Cause I have unusually large hands, he actually took measurements to insure that the handle would be sufficient in size.
He took an engraving course at the local community college, and this knife was the very 1st one he engraved.
