    Years ago i use to restore the old PV544 and 164 Volvos. I had a 164 ready to be painted and hit two deer on the way home from work at West Point one night. Started to strip and work on car and young fella and his girl friend from Saratoga Springs stopped at my house and wanted to know if I would hire them to paint my house. Just so happens he was a Volvo freak. When they finished painting my house I gave them the 164 as payment and loaded up my truck with all my Volvo parts. I followed them home in the 164 about 100 miles and arrived at 2am at his house. His back yard was full of Volvos and parts. Only guy I ever knew that had more Volvo parts than me. I guess I got the worst end of the deal but I was inspired by his ambition and love for the old Volvos

    PS: Forgot to mention. My bride of 58 years tomorrow drove my truck with all the Volvo parts. Yep, she thought i had lost my mind delivering Volvo and parts at 2AM.

    I saw a similar Dusenburg this wknd.


    This was a 1936, I think the 3rd pick was a Packard, which was interesting as they looked similar.

    For years I tried to find a PV544, but didn't have any luck. It would be the perfect car to sit beside my 41 Ford Tudor Sedan at a car show.

    If you like old cars, and are ever near Winchester VA, take a short side trip over to White Post VA, and visit these folks.

    White Post Restorations – Fine Automobile Restorations & Brake Cylinder Solutions


    On one visit they were restoring a Duesenberg, a Stutz-Bearcat and a Cord. Incredible work.

    LeBaron coach works may have built the body for the Packard as well as the Dusenberg

    Why thank you sir. Most call my bride Lady Di. (Diane) She is a keeper. 58 years today. She was the dean's secretary at the Point and I was Westy's driver. She invited me for coffee one day and the rest is history.--------------------------Ray
