WW2 Beretta Magazine Info
I was taking a look at my fathers "take home" Beretta from when he served in the army in Normandy. I have all the take home paper work from his commanding officer allowing the the gun to be taken home. My question is regarding the magazines. There are two magazines with the Beretta. Is one of the magazines the Original to the gun? see pics....

That looks like a Beretta 1935. Originally they came with a magazine that had a finger extension like your example that is unloaded. I would imagine that during the war corners may have been cut and that may be the source of your flat bottom mag. Nice gun and it and its .380 big brother the mod 1934 were in production a long time. Thanks Bob. The paper work states it was a enemy capture gun in Salzburg Austria. The gentleman at the gun range said that the gun looks like it wasn't fired much. I use the 7.65 Browning 32 auto ammo. It's getting difficult to find ammo for it. So, is the 7.65 ammo basically 32 caliper ammo? Can I subsitute other ammo for the gun? Sorry, not that familiar with it or ammo. Thanks, Peter

Yes, the 7.65 Browning is the European designation for what we in America call the 32acp. Ammo is out there but like all ammo right now it is scarce. Do a search on the auction side;

Again thank you. I found a interesting marking on my Beretta. It has a 4UT stamped on it. The below info was found during my search….
“M1935 pistol. The 4UT is a proof mark used while under German control of the factory.

When purchasing magazines for this 7.65 model 1935 beretta are there aftermarket magazines that would fit? Or from different beretta years?

There are several for the 1935 listed on the auction side, just make sure it says 1935 32acp and you should be good to go. Bob

The flat bottom magazine is correct for the 1935. Mostly after the war 1948-1956. He might have picked that one up at a later time?
Triple K make aftermarket magazines. for the 1935. I Have not had great luck with these in the Beretta. the rear tends to wear when in the open position. and splits the lips. Plastic finger extension.
