he U.S. is reporting an average of about 1,200 daily Covid deaths for the week ended Jan. 3, Johns Hopkins data shows, well below the record numbers seen following last year’s holiday season when the daily average held above 3,000 for about a month starting in January 2021. The death toll tends to lag rises in case counts and hospitalizations, however.

I think it all depends on what fear mongering media source is reporting, and what 'experts' are supplying that information.
I no longer take any information from the CDC or the FDA seriously anymore. These are the same people that said oxycontin was safe and effective. The FDA approval of the Pfizer vaccine is a joke. What should have taken years of clinical trials was done in a few short months.
How many of these covid spikes being reported are hospitalizations and ER admissions for other reasons and are being listed as covid?

It's easy to get lots and lots of cases when you push, push, push testing. They are frantically looking for cases requiring tests in every way possible. They have to keep the panic going until about August then come up with a miracle cure to keep democrats in congress.
