Caught a Rat
I caught this guy in the basement yesterday. I live way out in the woods. These rats live in the woods like a normal wild animal, but in winter they want to move into the house. I have 9 electronic rat repellers in the basement and crawl soace and they have been working well for 2 years. I am guessing this rat was born deaf.

clays: how does this thing work? Do you have to put bait in it, or what?
Yes, there is a small bait square in the rear of it. I use a small dab of peanut butter. They can't resist it.

Most States have a "had it coming law" when it comes to Vermon damaging your property.

I had field rats invade my chicken/goat pen.
Tried all kinds of things. The Good Nature traps worked well, but not good enough.
5 gallon bucket, 2/3rds full of water. Packaging foam peanuts floating on top, with chicken feed sprinkled on top.
Ramp built to the rim.
I'd catch a bunch of baby/youngsters.
The good Nature traps got a lot of adults.
Still wasn't keeping up.
Went nuclear with 3 different kinds of poison blocks, and daily watering down of the base, where their tunnels were, in January, in sub zero weather.
I won, for the time being. They moved out a year ago, and haven't been back, yet...

Here in the desert, we have a ton of pack rats. They will DESTROY any vehicle sitting overnight if they are around. The cheap and easy solution is to put LIGHTS under the car, or under the hood at a minimum.
I have LED rope lights going all the way around my RV also. That keeps them out. Cheap and easy!
Merc
Do they ever chew on the LED light wires?
