Get caught in public with one and at the wrong place, you might have plenty of spare time to research them.😲

I do have one,a Benchmade OTF.

Michigan is now supposedly an auto knife friendly state but none of my cop friends are clear on the law so I have so far passed on buying one. Of course, like they tell me, they are the last to be informed when laws change. Bob

many years ago had one or two when I was in high school then years later had one but a buddy drooled on it so much I gave it to him .

as stated many states have assorted laws . so I would start there .

I would wager kal you can not have a butter knife much less a switchblade or auto knife as know now

As far as I can tell in Michigan, Gov Snyder signed off on legalizing them in June of 2017. I have a couple (nothing fancy), they are handy especially for fishing and opening hay bales.

I made what I thought was pretty low bids on a couple of his knives and won both of them. Emailed and requested combined shipping. He sent them together but charged me shipping for both.

I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality of the knives, either.

Getting "caught" ???????? automatic knives are completely legal in my state.

Started out, they were illegal for anyone then they were legal only with a CC permit, now they are legal for anyone.

Never owned an auto knife (presuming switch blade) but several years ago a good friend gave me a pair of antique sword canes. Found out from another friend (retired state trooper) they were illegal to own here in Michigan. The laws may have changed since then but I donated mine to a museum.
