Yep, we have the sleet and icy roads here in Texas, but no thunder so far, stay safe!

A thundersnowstorm is indeed unusual, but not unheard of (pun intended) Snowstorms don't usually have convective activity, but in mountainous terrain, there's always orographic uplift.

I live in the Ozarks, really old mountains. Went from distant thunder to a boomer so loud it freaked the freeloaders. Lightning must have struck within 500 yards of the house. We now have sleet/freezing rain. I would prefer sleet all day long.

I will settle for sleet too...I am always happy when the freezing rain changes over. Less chance of power outages !

A storm with snow and lightning at night is a wonder to behold.

My mom grew up in the Ozarks. When we visited I saw the most amazing lightning and thunder I've ever seen.
