I remember him well. I also remember seeing this because his t.v. show was a weekly staple at our house when I was growing up;

Same here one of the exceptions dad had when it came to watching all county music shows
So as a young fellow I along with most of the country I would guess watched him
A true clasic comidean .at the time I did not realize how good he really was

A lot of fond memories of our family all huddled around to watch him

One of the very best. Hilarious but never anything dirty. Red's comment about the filth spewing from the young performers {back in the 70s??} mouth was that it was the lazy mans way to comedy. If they would learn their craft with hours and hours of practice they wouldn't have to speak dirty.

Shook his hand at Ball State University in 1977. Just a wonderful man 33 degree Mason. Also a blessed artist .

Good old Freddie the Freeloader. He was a comedy icon back in the day. Funny and clean unlike today's comedians.

Not widely known.....but Red also enjoyed fine rifles and shotguns.

I ran a spotlight and called light cues for a show he did in Reno back in 1983. Seemed like a gentleman.

I saw him in 1978 at Eastern Illinois University. He put on a great live show.

My late MIL used to write to famous people and movie stars back in the 40's. She would get autographed pictures from most of them through her correspondences.
When she passed away in 2012, my wife inherited her moms huge album containing all of these signed photos. When I was paging through it, along with a nice pic of Red there was also an envelope with a Christmas card and a nice hand written note from him.

Nice Weatherby rifle! I read he was a good friend and customer of Roy Weatherby. In fact, if the picture was totally shown, I don't doubt that Roy is standing there beside him.

Fatty Arbuckle was popular back in the 20's and early '30s. Mostly in silent movies.

several months ago I looked up some of his old shows . I did not remember the dancers on his shows
but I was just a kid no wonder dad like it LOL
tons of video's on youtube with a lot of the big stars of the day doing guest appearances
