here is a photo of my forearm {top} and the new one from browning. they are pretty much the same except mine in more crude and not finished inside the split. really not much difference but seem like a poor way of making something. anyway i hope Browning will take this one back, i would keep it but the wood is so much darker than the butt stock.

They sure got it to you fast! The top one looks a lot like my Super X2. If I hadn't seen that all the Super X2s were the same way when I bought mine I would have thought it was a defect. On a positive note, while I haven't shot it as much as I have a lot of my shotguns, maybe 4 or 5 flats of shells, the forend has held up fine. It was another one of those super deals that I just couldn't pass up. I may not have a lot of willpower, but I do have a lot of toys!😁Bob
