Watch out for deep puddles if the intake is low.

Remember the truck from years ago. Never looks a day older. Keep at it Smitty, you will be fine.------------------------Ray

Holly cow I didn't realize how out of shape I am. After getting up and down off the floor several times today while installing the air scoop underneath the truck I can hardly move without a bunch of pain. With the way I'm moving around you'd think I was 92 years old instead of 72.

You need to be a contortionist to get that bolt on the tow hook back in while trying to hold the scoop at the same time. I had one of those lucky moments that happens very seldom for me where I put the bolt in a socket on the end of an extension and blindly reached in and hit the hole that was lined up and I didn't cross thread the bolt. It went in like a charm. I couldn't do that in a hundred more tries.

If I'm not to sore tomorrow I'll finish this thing up and see how it works.

It may not help HP or MPG but it WILL sound good when you goose it!

Yeah, I hate it when the dogs ball goes under furniture and I have to retrieve it! It isn’t as easy as getting up from push-ups used to be in PT, or the drop and give me 20!!

I finally completed the installation today. Turned out pretty nice. No check engine lights or anything. That's a big air filter that you can see through the plexiglass cover.

I ran into one problem earlier this week while I was installing the air scoop. The sleeve they furnished to attach the air scoop line to the bottom of the air box was about 2 inches to short. I contacted Volant's customer service on Thursday and their tech guy said he would send me a longer sleeve and FedEx delivered it today which was pretty fast. I didn't know FedEx delivered on Sunday?

I took it out for a test run this afternoon. I like the sound as it sorta reminds me of the sound of the old Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor when you stuck your foot in it. It would be hard to say if it frees up any hp without having put it on a before and after dyno test. Oh well it was something to keep me busy for a few days.

After my wounds heal up from the installation I'll have to find something else to do. I did pretty good I only lost about 1/2 pint of blood doing this which is better than usual. This blood thinner I take is something else. It makes blood thinner than water. I didn't realize I had cut myself until I saw blood dripping off of my elbow. I guess I'm getting a little to old for this kind of stuff. Maybe stamp collecting would be more along the lines of what I need to do.

Looks good. Did you tighten those cover screws to the proper torque value?😁

Good job there smitty! I'm mostly surprized that you found enough room under the hood for that contraption!! Many vehicles now days don't even have room for a big fisted hand holding a wrench!

    Good job.

I like that see through cover, you can see when it is getting dirty.

Let me know if you go into stamp collecting, I got a bunch I could send you. 😁
