#3 Turned 30 today
Bought her a "Cruiser" bicycle. We were discussing age as she thought about her son being 3 and how old she will be when he enters high school (she is teaching 9th grade English). I reminded her that I will be 70 at that time. Thought she was going to have a come apart.
She took a short ride on her bicycle and determined she needs practice as she hasn't ridden a bike in years.

Happy birthday! Gratulerer med dagen!
She doesn't need practice on the bike as much as she needs to loosen the clamp bolt on the seatpost and rotate the front of that saddle down about 10 degrees. Ouch!

happy Birthday
I decided its best not to start doing the math on how old I will be when my grand kid gets to a certain age its a bit scary
I will be just happy to make it LOL
as for the bike about 10 years ( where that time go ) wife and I went on vacation and while there decided to buy a couple bikes to take advantage of the trails at the place were were staying wifes bike looks very similar to your daughters she had to have a basket on hers also . but the week we were there my legs and Butt sure reminded me it had been too many years since I went bike riding and the chaffing OUCH big time ( so a container of monkey butt powder the second day was bought and helped big time
. a buddy /coworker who started riding long distance told me about it several months before when we were talking about his new hobby and I thought he was crazy but at the time all the people in his bicycle club used it
just a sugestion

I remember when my daughter turned 50 last year, that was an eye-opener for me. It put my 72 years (at that time) in perspective.
Happy Birthday to #3.
Are you ever going to give your kids real names? ๐

That's an "old school" bike. I guess they're coming back?

I was pregnant with her when I was 30. ๐ The old style bikes are making a return. Kids call them beach bikes. We rented them last year when we went to Rosemary Beach. Rode them all over the area. Had a blast.

Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter Susie!
When one of my 4 sons has a birthday, I find myself playing this game of What Year Was It when I turned their age. My youngest turns 34 in a couple months. It was 1990 when I hit his age. Doesn't seem that long ago for an old man who can remember way back when but can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday! ๐

I numbered them on here when I joined back in 1999. They were very young and it made sense to not post names. Old habits and tradition have continued the process.
Guess I need to start the same thing with the grandkids. Have 8 with one on the way. GK1 and on down to oven baby, GK9. The one on the way has been named Agent Baby by one of his brothers.

I will definitely let her know about the Monkey Butt powder.

Some of the new-fangled mountain bikes have really fat tires on them. They almost look wide enough for a motorcycle. Disc brakes on a bicycle. Who would have though?
Yep, the tires are great for getting through soft new snow. I run mine about 8psi. The discs are because the soft new snow coats your rims and freezes so caliper type brakes don't work.

Suz might be like me, can't remember their names so just give them a number. Yep every time the kids have a B-day we get a year older to.
BTW, HBD to #3

Memories of riding a bicycle in the winter were NOT good memories for me! I still carry a couple of scars from back then.
I see my Amish neighbors out all the time treading along on bikes on the snow and ice covered roads. I give them a LOT of room as I slowly drive by!
