Never thought about the night vision devices.

"Never thought about the night vision devices."
The alternative is just take some from "someone who no longer needs them". This was a comment I heard from Dad regarding military equipment in WW2. This would be facilitated by the "quality firearms and ammo".

You are a very lucky man William81. All of my old coot shooting buddies have gone under. ๐

I'm still trying to figure out how a Ford could take you as far as a Bentley. ๐

@susie it says the Bentley will take you as far as a ford...

That's not saying much.

Most all my old coot shooting friends have passed on. Many a great time, especially driving about one hour each way to the Friday night turkey shoot. Always a comedian in the mix, we laughed so hard may a time we were sore for days from laughing. One of them shot his big toe off, he was in bed asleep, something woke him up and he saw something a the foot of the bed. He kept a pistol under his pillow, yep, though it was an intruder but suddenly found out it was his foot.
One other of the gang would tell a joke and get the punch line at the first of the joke. He was a blast, sure miss those fellows.

I understand what you are saying. The guy I really wanted to send it to passed away a few days before Christmas this year. I have fewer folks to share this wisdom with all the time. ๐

Amen to that William81. My dad and I had ongoing discussions going for years by email. Highlight of my morning was seeing what he'd writ overnight, always to bring a big smile and I'd work on a reply during the day. I lost him a couple years ago and I sure miss that. Steel sharpens steel.

Was always a little envious of you living up there in the "Last Frontier" a place I never wanted to leave in '89. I would say a lot of your dad's steel rubbed off on you. Yep, you are a lucky fella.-----------------------Ray

Thanks Ray, that's high praise indeed. There is no place like this place. Or people like these people.
Here's a picture of Joe Redington and Susan Butcher when they mushed a dog team to the top of that rock.

Beautiful pics Nanuq!
This story I read today kind of adds a bit of sarcastic wisdom to Alaska Dog Sledding! ๐ฒ
