That is gun confiscation day in the People republic of Canada.
Dear leader Justin Trudeau gave all Canadians 2 years to turn in their weapons on his banned list and on 30 Apr 2022 .
We should be watching this closely. I think they are going to use the NZ model. I know they are are going compensate people monetarily and its going to cst the government 400-600 million dollars. The GOV is not making it mandatory like was done in NZ and AUS but if you keep the gun you can never use it and you cannot pass it on, sell or give it to anyone so basically its a wall hanger that dies with you.
It doesn't look too good for the turn in.

Only 160 firearms that the Liberal government prohibited more than a year and a half ago have been deactivated or surrendered, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The government originally estimated that its ban, which toook effect on May 1, 2020, would apply to 90,000 to 105,000 firearms in Canada.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has long promised to create a buyback program for the weapons.

Remember when they had a mandatory firearm registration law a while back? Only a small percentage complied and their govt had neglected to budget for keeping the records. If I recall correctly, they just quietly killed the law because of the widespread noncompliance. Hopefully that happens to this law as well. Bob

Their "estimate" wouldn't even cover Idaho county here in Idaho and we are one of the lowest populations in the state.

Back when Cuomo pushed through the NY SAFEACT, among other things, no more new purchase of a non approved AR platform. Those who already own one had a drop dead date that's long past to register their rifles. NY State Police estimated there were between 1.5 to as high as 3 million ARs in New York State.
The last I heard, over two years ago, only app 50,000 have been registered. Cuomo...who is gone now, and the State Police never bring the subject up.

That's why libs push "registration" as a "simple" step to cut violence, not as a first step to confiscation.
And it's always about things, not about the offenders. That way nobody is judged, it just a "thing" that's evil.😵
