... and here we are austin20. My late dad told me that there is no free lunch. Too many people think that "free" stuff from the government is free. While it is said often that the government has no money - it's taxpayer money. There should be an asterisk added. The government just prints more currency. Naturally, that just makes the value of the dollar worth less. The result is what some call inflation. 😕

If anyone on this forum had a say about the free govt covid tests sent out ..speak up. I do know I did not have a say how the govt spends their money. It is Their money not ours they spend .

None of us have a say how the govt spends their money. They may send out toilet paper to everyone.

I use to chuckle when at a church meeting the parish members would ask how much money the church had. I would reply... Church will be open on Sunday. Once the church members put that money in the plate it becomes the Churches property. Same with our Govt. Tax money is collected, and it is spent for defense , entitlements , whatever and folks have no say.

So true, but sadly too many sheep who just keep taking. Maybe they don’t have children or grandchildren or maybe they don’t care about them. Not sure how they justify it in their minds

I for one worry much more about the dismemberment of our US Constitution and resultant loss of freedom than the national debt. Yes there is a correlation between the two but its the Constitution that gives us our freedom.
Irresponsible and malicious government give us the debt.

I like the analogy of sheep and wolves. People need to be reminded our government is supposed to be a Republic not a Democracy. A Democracy is two hungry wolves and one fat sheep voting on what they will have for dinner.

I agree select-fire and others. I won't live long enough to see how bad this will turn out. My boys are in their 50's and may see some hard times. I have grand-kids and great grand-kids and they will have a life nothing like ours as it is now.

and the people told the politician's what they wanted ...Oh wait thats what its supposed to be as countless people gave all to get it but it has turned into a elete group of self gratifying POS telling us how to live and what's good for us with no accountability on there part
in a real world ( make believe now ) the people could decide what to spend there tax dollars on by voting not some POS own personal view and pocket lining
just a wild guess on my part but pet projects , illegals , free crack pipes , billions to help the homeless and trillions to help all the other country's and endless grants to study countless things like the mating habits of earth worms or why it snows would not be funded to name a few 🤨 will add any politician who so much as stray's or trys to redefine from the sworn oath of upholding the law and constitution would be removed from office that day no ifs ands or butts even jail time for doing it

Even an ordinary guy like me has noticed by following stories about rising and falling stocks in the marketplace, that our nations medical care system is NOT at all about saving lives or keeping people HEALTHY.

There is no battle. This great country gives the same opportunity to all. In fact I can only vote for folks that see the same vision. Those that complain and moan need to spend more time concentrating on how they can become more successful and stop worrying about what they have no control over. That is still the American Dream. That theory has worked for the Wife and I clear into retirement.

The government is only as good as it's citizen are and frankly that's the bottom line.I would prepare accordingly for it's dictator time before long. The system always rots from the head.
