Traffic on I-90 through Spokane is really only moderately bad east bound for about 30-45 minutes starting about 4:50pm. There are no major construction projects going on currently, so that is helpful. There is a reduced speed posted through Liberty Lake (just a bit past exit 293 and right before exit 296) because they started an overpass last summer. No work has been done on it since about August, but the reduced speed remains... and no one seems to adhere to it. Hope this helps.

It does help, thanks. We went thru there last month and remember seeing the overpass work. I wonder why they haven't done anything there since last summer? Are there any way(s) to by pass any of it that's not too far out of the way?

Nothing that would be a time saver in any conceivable way.

Stop for dinner at Clinkerdagger and avoid the rush hour traffic.

Clinkerdagger is overpriced to pay for the view of the falls. Better fan fare is at McCraken's Irish Pub & BBQ (formerly O' Doherty's).

Thanks for the info, but on these "hurry up" type of trips, with short notice, wife and I just make a few sandwiches and just get there. If traffic isn't too bad, we can generally do it in less than 10 hours. And usually on the way back, it's the same thing, let's just get home... Thanks Randy and Joe, next time that we have more time, we will stop to enjoy the fine cuisine that you recommend. What town are they in?

Clinkerdagger is in downtown Spokane. McCraken's Irish Pub & BBQ is in the Spokane Valley on the I-90 business loop known as Sprauge.

Are Fuddruckers and Swackhammers still around there?

We used to have a Fuddruckers around here, but they've been gone a long time.
