I never ( as in my family ) never listed to much radio so I do not remember the live bands

as far as radio unless we were in a car then it was dad also listing to country music so much so for years I thought all music was country

I miss even live DJ 's not computer run automated systems

same with late night local TV stations ( some were afternoon programs aimed getting home from school or work ) had some one making comments or hosting the movies . some in make up some just being funny

lot of good old memories from that also .

I don't remember. Was that back in the '30's?

In the 70s I only listened to WJR for sports and don't remember hearing their orchestra. During that era I was a CKLW fan because top 40 programming was more to my liking. I do remember getting WJR on the car radio in Wyoming in the late 70s while on hunting trips. A 50,000 watt clear channel station can broadcast a long way. Bob

Skitch Henderson and the NBC orchestra. Just before Doc took over. Early 60's.

I can pick up a Canadian radio station at night. 740 AM. They still play dramas. That's an old concept too.
