LMAO, if you only change HVAC filters TWICE a year, then you my friend have BIGGER PROBLEMS to worry about! 😁🥺

Could have been worse, they might have voted to split the hour, then round it off to the nearest second. 😜 That sounds like something AOC would come up with!

Hidden within the bill is doubtless more funding for Isolated Monopole Solid State Hairless Aardvark research, you know cutting edge stuff like that.

Oh and the nationwide adoption of Metric Time.

Biden will sign it and claim he made time stand still.

So now all the devices that automatically change the time twice a year, will automatically create an error of one hour twice a year?

Old Indain saying: In reference to DST

only white man think you can cut off one end of a blanket and sew it onto the other end and make it longer and better.

What would make sense would be to have everyone, world-wide on Zulu time. Exactly the same time no matter where you are. No standard time, no daylight savings time, no time zones, no 8 hours difference between the EU and me, but only 7 hours difference between the UK and me.

Like living at the equator, spent enough time in Kenya to not worry about both time and temperature.

    That absolutely will happen! 🤪

Remember a few years ago, the time change wasn't aligned with the clocks for some reason? The time clock at work was wrong for a few weeks. IIRC?

Agree on the time change end but not sure which is the best, regular or DST.

    If retired who cares.

Right at this moment I can think of many things more important than time changes.

As said earlier there will be much pork attached to the bill.

The wife said do a half hour once and be done with it.

I prefer more light later in the day.

The big question is, why do we have to go through another cycle before making the change?

Well, I'm happy they got something done. I'm surprised that it was DST rather the war, inflation, gas prices, or our open southern boarder. A congress has to have their priorities I guess.

Back when kids walked to school, it might have been a good idea.

I would have been happy to have standard time permanently. I don't like it when it is 7:30am or later before it gets daylight sometimes. Some people like to sleep in and stay up late, I am the opposite an early riser

That is a joke now. Not sure what it is like in your area but the line of cars dropping kids off at school around here is unbelievable every morning.

Yep, same here. After decades of working in the woods, I'm still up at 04:00-05:00. When I was running my log truck, sometimes I'd leave home at 02:30.

problem with this in the north country where I live sunrise won't happen till 9:15 am on the shortest day of the year. we go from about 9 hours of day light to 15 hours of daylight on longest day....if stay standard time sunrise would be just before 5 am in June. any ways we had kids in school almost an hour before sunrise in the winter. so wed have kids driving to school in the dark in what very well could be nasty winter conditions which other wise would be fine to drive in with daylight.....

there is a hell of a lot more pressing issues for congress to deal with like we aren't a superpower relying on almost everything we use and need being manufactured in foreign countries!

I never did understand the point of that STOOPID movie.

I watched it twice if I remember that was years ago 1st time was WTH is that. 2nd time was strange for sure but no real meaning just entertainment like a rock opera . I cant say I am fan but come to terms with it as being just that LOL

I am not sure as its been years since I have seen anything about it but I remember for years it was ( is ) ? a cult film people would go to theaters ( bigger cities I will guess ) like mid night showings dressed as character's from the movie and most could recite the entire scrip while watching it . just people enjoying sharing a break from real life I guess

speaking of did you see Tommy the 70's rock opera it was also a bit strange but the music was good for the time

    Tommy (1975) - IMDb
Tommy: Directed by Ken Russell. With Oliver Reed, Ann-Margret, Roger Daltrey, Elton John. A psychosomatically blind, deaf, and mute boy becomes a master pinball player and, subsequently, the figurehead of a cult.

    ok back to normal programing

as for me I am glad they did away with switching time never liked it . I remember it was for school kids and maybe farmers ?

my understanding just about every kid rides a bus or hauled in by cars now any way

no walking or very little as it was when we were younger I recall going to school was like the mail man creed, neither rain snow hail or gloom of night ..or some think like that
