Enfield No. 4 MK I Stock Bolt?
I can't tell by shining a light in the hole.
Is the bolt slotted to accept a screwdriver, or is it a hex-head?
If it's a hex-head, what size socket does it take?

Ah, the "S" word, "Should." I agree that it "should" be slotted, but I can't get my screwdriver to get hold of it. Looking in with a light, I don't see a slot.
The forestocks are already removed.

"C"ould be a piece of rag, etc. in there.

Stock has bolt with huge slot. Should be a 2-3 coil spring under head. Need long screwdriver sized to fit slot or you can ruin the slot. If you have access to a grinding wheel, you can take an old screwdriver and make it fit. rmr

If you cant remove the bolt the normal way you will have to drill the head for an "Easy-Out" and use a socket with extension for the Easy Out. Last resort would be to cut stock at wrist.

As said before there may be a piece of felt or leather in the hole to keep the oil can in the cleaning kit from making noise. The screw driver needs to be at least 9 inches long. Some of the leather pads have a hole in the center (about 1/4 inch) and you can push the blade past it to reach the screw.

I've run into this with several Lee Enfields. Just bend the end of a wire clothing hanger to snag it and pull it out. The stock bolt has a slotted head.
