this kinda crap pizzes me off....
Why does a person need to set up an account, with a user password, enter all of the info about your income, age, marital status, sexual preference, favorite sock color and what your favorite morning drink is, just to register a product you just bought for their warranty? If my new Porter Cable 8" disc grinder takes a dump in the next 3 years as their said warranty implies, they can come get it out of my scrap pile.. Aaargh, rant over.

Yep, I avoid things like that if I can. Hell the" interbet" knows more about me than I do. I quit entering all those give aways as it is nothing but data and then you will receive the most dreaded text, emails, phone calls after you do things like that, imo only.

I agree, you don't need to tell everything. Not their business. Just saying...

In many states, failure to register a product does not void its warranty.
Registration will make it easier to advise of a recall, and for data mining.
