euters) - Russia could cut gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany, but it has not made such a decision yet, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Monday.
"In connection with unfounded accusations against Russia regarding the energy crisis in Europe and the imposition of a ban on Nord Stream 2, we have every right to take a matching decision and impose an embargo on gas pumping through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline," Novak said in a statement broadcast on state television.
"But so far we are not taking such a decision," he said.

If Ukraine was smart they would have already sent commando’s to blow up all of Russia’s pipelines , oil fields and anything to do with the electrical grid.

If any members of the EU capitulate, it would send a clear message to Putin that he could do whatever he wanted in Eastern Europe.

Interesting that Europe was at one time self sufficient in natural gas. That was before the greenies, possibly funded by the Russians, stopped it and made the EU dependent on Russia. Kinda makes one wonder about the greenies here.

Good point. What happened to all of the oil and natural gas in the North Sea that was jointly owned by Britain and Norway? Off shore production is very expensive, so you could be right about the Russians making a sweet deal to Europe with their pipelines.
Regardless, I'm tired of Putin running his mouth. Vladimir has raised an adoring band of young Russians who ignored not having personal freedom in exchange for I-Phones, credit cards, a stable Ruble, owning BMW's and Audis, and a host of western goods that their parents could have never dreamed of.
Now these young people have no freedom at all...and none of those goodies. No matter what happens in Ukraine, Russia will quickly look like North Korea.
