Leupold scopes
Do they have the same quality that they had lets say 35 years ago?

They are tough to beat, made only in America, and they were my go to scope for years. I now also like Vortex for the money and quality.

Assembled in America and still a great warranty. Optically, I would say that 20 years ago they were behind the curve. I think they had become complacent and were slow to react to the competition. Now they are back to putting out competitive products that are as good optically and more durable than a lot of other brands. Expensive, but you get what you pay for. Bob

IMHO, they are over-rated and overpriced, but having said that, they do stand by their warranty even if you have to send the same scope back twice..

Just recently bought a Leupold CDS and I am really happy with it. The CDS dials are dead on and very simple to use

YES:
AMERICAN MADE AND REALLY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. 9You do not have to talk to a robot and get placed on hold for several minutes to get CS or a tech.
You can even buy a USED Leupold and it's a lifetime warranty ON THE SCOPE, no questions asked.
I've tried them other clowns. watch out for the phrase limited lifetime warranty.
For example: Nikon no longer honors scope warranties and are going out of the scope business. (and I have a bad lifetime warranty Monarch and some other Monarchs that the power ring cannot be turned in cold weather.
I had a old Leupold scope that I bought used that the variable power rings got hard to turn, boxed it up, $12.50 USPS to Leupold, came back completed overhauled.
Sent a old Vari X3, 3.5x10 with AO in due to tight AO adjust ring, they sent me an email asking if I would like to exchange it for a later model, no charge. They sent ,e a VX3 as a replacement.
I have to ask myself why would I want to buy any of the others? (and take a chance on more aggravation from dealing with poor CS employees and a limited warranty)
I throwed a Bushnell repaired scope in the trash due to it coming back 6 mo's later from Bushnell same as when sent. (and I had to inquire and then provide show proof of tracking number that they received it)

Don't know-never owned one. Zeroed several and didn't see much/any difference in quality vs some other brands so I didn't spend the extra for the 'gold ring'.

Yes. It’s almost all I use. The modern ones are far superior to my 80s and 90s ones. I don’t buy any that aren’t 30mm tubes now. Better eye box and low light. Target knobs are also superior now.
I broke a 2000s vx-2 and it was replaced without delay. My fault
i have a vx6, 4 vx5, several mk4s, I love the 1.5-5 fire dot for ar types+ 3-9 fire dot for my ar22
a Leupold replaced the kahles on my .375 and is far superior (admittedly newer) but I sold the kahles for more. I have owned nightforce, IOR, and others but prefer Leupold

Just remember there's many counterfeits out there if buying and they're very hard to spot. I myself can't see the difference but many can, the company surely can spot the difference if you send one in under warranty....they'll let you know. Just like Nike and other name brand items counterfeits abound.

A lot of scopes, yes. Just not a PLETHORA of scopes! 😁

18 scopes in NOT a 'lot'. Just guessing I have that many that I consider 'transients' (meaning used scopes that get shuffled from rifle to rifle for bore break in, accuracy/function testing, and such). If the rifle is worthwhile THEN it gets a scope appropriate for it's intended purpose.

KEY WORD, LEUPOLD, 18 of them is a "lot" of LEUPOLD scopes. I stand firm IMO!😋

YES again. Leupold will GET ER DUN.
Most all scopes will ok when looking through them in bright sunlight.
Leupold scopes are great at the prime time hunting hours first few minutes of morning and last few minutes at sunset.
Most cheap scopes will not gather enough light to see at the prime time hunting minutes.
I'm still setting in my deer stand hunting at sunset when others hunters are driving home, because they cannot see through their scopes.
The 30mm are even better than the 1 inch tubes.
If you cannot see them you cannot hit them.
Life is too short to hunt with a ugly gun and a worthless scope.
