I think the people of Ukraine have suffered enough. I say send in the UN Troops. If that doesn't work which may not, send in our guys with their boots on the ground. Putin obviously is not to concerned about economic sanctions even though they are destroying the Russian people and their country.
It is time I fear to call Putin's Threat/Bluff. Our people must know by now how his brain ticks, Even Gates former director of the CIA says he is a Cold Bloodied Killer. I was on Red Alert when President Kennedy turned the missiles around in Cuba. Sometimes their is "Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself"

To make matters worse, my new NY State Drivers License says Veteran but it won't get me on a plane. And then there is the matter of a Passport. As a student of history , I have learned that appeasement of tyrants and dictators never works / ends well . Anyone remember Poland in 1968 ? Afghanistan and Crimea ? Putin is not stupid or insane but cunning as a fox . History has shown him that he can do as he please with few repercussions . I am sure Sleepy Joe's chaotic exit from Kabul was a big factor on Putin's timing of the invasion of Ukraine. In his demented mind he probably sees the USA as a Paper Tiger.
We could use those weapons of war now to help the Ukrainians one would think. By the time they get pilots in the cockpits of those Migs from Poland the carnage will be ten times worse.
Hard to believe but I have seen some reports and video of our prior service guys flying into Poland to fight side by side with Ukrainian Army. I guess we will have a few boots on the ground. Hard to turn your back on a country that has such a thirst for FREEDOM.--------Ray

If Europe can't handle the issues in Europe what good are they? Europe is a Socialist/Progressive nightmare funding their defense out of our American pockets. I think Putin probably knows that in a conventional war the USA would kick his butt. Sleepy Joe and his handlers are always crying we don't want to get in a war with a Nuclear Power. If all nations take this attitude and they do, it is like a stamp of approval for Putin to go ahead and do what he wants to do. I guess I am trying to say "Do you want to die on your feet or spend the rest of your life on your knees" I think the citizens of Ukraine have shown they do not want to spend the rest of their lives on their knees. So give them the arms, ammo and planes to defend themselves and perhaps the European countries will put some "Boots on the Ground" If all else fails then I think we should consider sending in our troops. Helping others has been our cross to bear for a very long time. I am afraid the Ukrainians will be annihilated before we reach the point of sending our troops. I hope I am wrong.----------Ray

Shifting to Taiwan, ask yourself if it would be in our national interest to go to war with China over Taiwan. You’ll probably agree that one is a no as well. As such, don’t expect to see us rushing to the rescue when the hammer drops over there either.

Taiwan is a little different! If China invades(bombs) Taiwan, then we will immediately be in a war! We have hundreds/thousands of US troops stationed in Taiwan. That WOULD be a direct threat on the USA. I hope it never happens, but with sleepy Joe in charge anything is possible.

I agree, it’s their war OVER THERE right now. No one likes to here about war and what it causes in human tragedy. But there always seems to be somebody fighting somebody in Europe, been that way for century’s .

It is ironic that thousands of the Ukrainian refugees have crossed into Poland and received temporary food and shelter, the same country that Hitler stormed into in 38/39? During the Battle of Britain when Germany inexplicably switched from bombing military targets and airfields to civilian population centers, British morale didn't crack, in fact it strengthened their resolve to fight on. Putin must know this, or at least the people around him do.
I think Putin has become Hitler in that he's surrounded himself with yes-men who are afraid to tell him anything but what he wants to hear.

I think people tend to forget how easy an all out world war can start and how devastating they are. It's easy to sit back and say it's time we get it on. Once it starts there's no turning back.
People at the start of WWI hadn't seen war in Europe in so many years they forgot and they thought it was going to be wonderful to go off to war like they had read about the hero's in earlier times in their history books. They left in train loads of cheering and waving soldiers with loved ones waving back and cheering their brave sons on. All sides thinking they would go to war and come back as the glorious heroes and winners by Christmas. Little did they know.
Trouble had been boiling for years in that part of the world but it only took the assassination of one prince and his wife to kick start WWI and to set the world on fire. Simply amazing how little it took.
