Help Identifying this wood rifle Stock ?? Model???
Any help appreciated on identifying this what looks like an original factory wood rifle stock. 32" long and has nice checkering. Bottom floor plate cutout 8 3/8" long. On bottom floorplate cutout, in front of trigger space, it looks to have a stamped N but not sure if it is. If we can provide any other info. please let us know. Thanks!-----We're wanting to put in on auction so would like to put as much information on the ad.--

I would guess a Winchester model 70.

The checkering looks just like my Browning BAR-22.

Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Standard (not the Feather-weight stock which would not have the cut out and hole for a front screw)
I have two of these in .270 Standard and .270 Feather weight. That White line pad was very popular in the 1950's. Hurts the value of the stock (cut stock). Stocks for that gun $150 to 250 last time I looked a few years ago. Probably more now. Also, the pre-64 and post -64 stocks are not interchangeable.
