I THINK they are all interchangeable. I have never read otherwise. Unfortunately, I cannot test my two 97's at the present time.

"I THINK they are all interchangeable"....................ONLY TO A 'POINT', THE M-97 USES A 'CHAMBER RING' SIMILAR TO A M-12 AND THESE MUST BE 'MATCHED' TO THE REPLACEMENT BARRELS CHAMBER

Thanks, navc130 and Mike. I took a look at my M97s (they are both E series guns) to see what they look like. I presume you are referring to the ever-so-slight "ring" at the receiver end of the barrel, which is just a tiny bit "proud"? When you say "matched", I presume that the height of that ring is what is matched? If so, then I think I understand that I would need to have my old barrel and the replacement inhand, together, so that I could compare the height of their rings?

    Thanks again!

I recently bought a m-97 that was fired without this ring in place, they probably wound up with 'extra' parts after a complete strip & clean. the case blew out completely destroying the receiver, the barrel was just fine.
