I have a Remington barrel marked ( PS). When was it made? Thanks.

S = 1925 or 1969 or 1998. You must determine which one.

That rules out 1925. I believe the first 870 was 1948.

Wood pattern would tell if it is a 69 or 98 model. Maybe if 69 might have corncob forend.

If the barrel has choke tubes it is 98. Rem didn't offer removable chokes in the 870 until 1986. Bob
