Congrats Randy, it is getting really tough to stand living in certain States here in the PNW. Where are you going to end up at, Sandpoint area?

Just a small 10 acre piece in Athol.

Attention: there will be NO jokes about that town being "the Athol of the Rockies."

Primarily because it's been done to death.

Nice place. I went turkey hunting near there and a bear almost ate me.

Congrats on getting out of the Commie state. I did so many years ago.

But now even Boise seems to Commie to me. I will have to move one more time to a more rural area.

Is that close to Ruby Ridge?

Never fear, the good elections folks in your old state will still be voting in your behalf. Isn't that what an absentee ballot is for?

    Welcome to freedom, Randy.

income tax is a bit of a bite, but I have no regrets about making the move two years ago.

It should be know that the town of Athol is named after a person.

    His name was Robert Harding.

Wish you the best Mr P in the land of freedom. The entire left coast has transformed into a DEMOCRAT sewer.

Made the trip through there a few years ago, my BIL lived in Naples.

I swear the sign saying "welcome to Naples" said the same thing on both sides.

He now lives in the land of the uni-bomber.

Interestingly, the total tax burden is less even with the income tax, but I used to have to pay Idaho income tax living in WA anyway since my employer is located there. WFH changed that status in 2020, but in any case it's not something I'm foreign to even though I don't particularly like it. As an aside, it's about the only thing I don't like about Idaho. The state took advantage of the low wages during the depression to decrease the tax burden on folks (they lowered property taxes at the time). How that all transpired in such a conservative state, I have no idea. Income tax is a pretty progressive idea. Accordingly I despise it.

Congratulations! I love Washington but sadly it’s gone to seed. The West side is completely controlled by Democrats and they control the whole State. Since moving here in 2007 it’s become one step closer to California style gun control with no end in sight. I’ve got 8 years to retire then we’re selling the house and RV it full time. Probably won’t spend much time here after that.

Hopefully you'll be able to afford fuel for your RV 8 years from now!
